Fighting for dominance is a very common thing among the gorillas, its the thing that make the silver back gorilla to earn respect from the female gorillas, gain strength and expand on the family. Fighting for dominance it’s a thing that is always done occasionally among the gorillas, the males always beat their chest so as to show to the others that they are stronger than them. They can charge, break down trees and destroy things around them in order to show that they are the one in control. They use vocals as another way of communication and braveness, its a very in interesting experience watching the gorillas fight though it’s not for the faint hearted since in the process they don’t care for whoever around them and they can hurt themselves so badly to the point of death if one cannot give up even when defeated. Why do they fight It’s just the nature of the gorillas to fight, most of them grow with that in mind. That’s why they have to prepare themselves physically in order to face whatever thing that come across their way. Others fight in order to get more women from other groups and expand on their family. Even in the families, the gorillas fight in order to take up leadership in the family because in the family, the most powerful gorilla is the one that take up leadership and his decisions are finally. The leader is the only one that is allowed to mate the female gorillas in the family. What happens to the defeated silverback? The defeated silver back either becomes submissive or is made to leave the group and starts to live a lonely life as a bachelor and deserted gorilla. Others go and train and later comes back for confrontation. However, some family split and they follow the silver back of their choice. How do they take the male born baby? The silverback always takes the male born child as the threat to them because they know that when they grow up they will over throw them. The female gorillas can cross from one group to another but the male gorillas cannot do that in case they do so, they can be chased away, they rather start living a lonely life in case they cannot fit in their family. Other male gorillas can move away with the few females that they love in order to start up their own family. Most male gorillas don’t like to be challenged because any sign of defeat shows that they are weak and make them to even loose the females around them since every female gorilla would love to be protected by the strong male gorilla. The silver back gorillas are always happy when female gorillas produce a baby girl since that marks the increase of wives for him. What makes the gorillas dominant The male gorilla becomes dominant once it develops the silver hair and registers a success in the battle. The silver hair is the sign of maturity in the gorillas. When they develop the silver hair, this thing forces them to go for confrontation either with their father or another family. In the way that the one that wins the battle takes over the family. If the gorilla loses in the battle, he has to be submissive to the dominant gorilla or move away from the family in order to live a lonely life. Others can choose to move away in order to prepare and come back to fight when they feel that they are stronger. Being with very many ladies around you is also a sign of dormancy in the gorillas and the dominant gorilla is the one that always leads the others. Is cheating allowed Cheating is not allowed among the gorillas, it’s only the dominant silver back that is allowed to mate and whoever is found cheating is punished or chased away from the family. Though you know as it is in human, it is not possible for the black back to stay without mating and yet they are watching the silverback enjoy, so they are so wise in the way that they hide and mate the females whenever they feel like without the notice of the silver back. What is so interesting about the gorillas Everything about the gorillas is so interesting, watching the mother breast feed the young ones, watching her carry the baby either on her back or on her belly is so funny. Watching the young ones play so happily while smiling and laughing is mind blowing. Watching the male gorillas fight for dominancy is also a very interesting thing and watching either the male groom the female or the female groom the male is so amazing.
