Hiking Rwenzori Mountains

The mountain has Margherita as its highest peak at 5,109m. It is called mountain of the moon because it is snow capped besides being alongside the equator line.

Sabinyo volcano measures 3,645m high and it is the second highest volcano in Mgahinga gorilla national park. The name means the old’s man teeth in Rufumbira. It takes about 7-10 hours for one to complete a hike to its peak.
It is the most liked volcano by most hikers because its peak gives them a very good view of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Its peak enables the tourist to see the three countries at once.
Gahinga means a small pile of stones. It is the shortest volcano in Mgahinga gorilla national park among the three volcanoes. Measuring about 3,474m high. Hiking to the top of its peak takes about 5-7 hours.
Muhabura Volcanoes one the best hiking places in Uganda
Meanwhile Muhabura means a guide in Rufumbira. The highest volcano in Mgahinga gorilla national park among the three volcanoes.
It measures about 4,127m high. Hiking to its peak takes about 10-14 hours. Most popular for its crater that is found on the top of the mountain. While at its peak, one is able to view Congo and Uganda at the same point.
