Day 1: Kigali The capital of Rwanda
On arrival, our experienced guides will welcome you and brief you through the whole trip. Have a cool drive to the hotel in Rushengeri where you are going to rest as you prepare for the next day’s activity.

Day 2: Mountains Gorilla tracking
Wake up very early in the morning around 5:00 am. Prepare as you take the morning breakfast. A drive to Parc National des Volcans for mountain gorilla tracking. The trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience.
Ensure you bring with you enough water and a packed lunch not forgetting a facemask. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the primates in their natural environment. Trek back to the starting point where you will get your driver guide waiting for you. After the amazing experience, drive back to the hotel. Have a relaxing dinner and overnight.

Day 3: The beach of Lake Kivu in Gisenyi
After a hearty breakfast, leave Ruhengeri and proceed to Gisenyi, a pretty town located on the shores of beautiful Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. Relax on the beach. Enjoy dinner and as you rest for tomorrow’s activity.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park along Lake Kivu. Stopover in Kibuye for lunch. Arrive in Nyungwe National Park in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: The primates of Nyungwe National Park
Have an early morning breakfast, drive to Nyungwe forest for trekking in search of the numerous troops of Colobus monkeys and tracking the chimpanzee.
Nyungwe is a vast, uncontaminated rain tropical forest over 1000 sq. km in size and such intense, green mountain vegetation will amaze you.
Ensure you carry with you are well prepared with a packed lunch and water for a picnic lunch. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Kigali and the culture of Rwanda
After morning breakfast, drive to Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. Stopover in Gikongoro for a tour of the Genocide Memorial of Murambi. Lunch in Butare, where it is possible to find the best Rwandan original handicraft.
Butare hosts the biggest university and the national cultural museum, worthy to visit. Stopover in Nyanza for a tour of the royal palace of the traditional king of Rwanda, the Mwami. Arrive in Kigali for a relaxing dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Akagera National Park
After morning breakfast, drive to Akagera National Park that is located in the Eastern part of Rwanda, near the border with Tanzania. It encompasses the Akagera River and covers an area of approximately 1,122 square kilometers (433 square miles). This stunning park is named after the river that flows along its eastern boundary.
Have an evening game drive around 5:30pm. Evening drives offer a chance to see animals returning to their resting spots. The light during sunset creates a beautiful, golden ambiance, perfect for capturing stunning photographs.
Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. Predators like lions and leopards might also be spotted as they become more active during the cooler evening hours. Have dinner and rest.

Day 8: Morning Game drive
Early morning drive at 6:30AM. Morning drives are perfect for spotting early risers like buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and topis. The light is soft and ideal for photography, and the park is usually quieter, giving you a more intimate experience with the wildlife.
You might see elephants, zebras, warthogs, and various antelope species. The morning is also a good time to spot predators like lions and leopards. In the afternoon, drive back to Kigali for dinner and overnight.
