
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary is located in lake Victoria in Uganda. With the aim of protecting the orphaned chimpanzees from various parts of Uganda that have been rescued by Uganda Wildlife Authority. The place has about 52 chimpanzees.
The Island was gazetted in October 1998. It is managed by a non- profit organization and that’s wildlife conservation trust and the chimpanzee sanctuary.
Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary covers about 100 acres of rainforest situated on lake Victoria. The place is about 23 km by boat south East of Entebbe city not for away from the equator in lake Victoria.
